Obra na Ásia Privacy Policy

Version 1 · 13/10/2026

1. Your privacy

Obra na Ásia is the app that organizes colporteur logistics: who is in which country, until when they may stay and when they need to travel. This Policy explains, in plain terms, what data the app keeps, what for, who can see it and what your rights are.

In short: we keep only what is needed to organize your trips and take care of you. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising and we do not build profiles about you.

This Policy applies to the Obra na Ásia app. It complements the general IVPT Privacy Policy, which covers the institute's websites and channels.

2. Who looks after your data

Obra na Ásia is affiliated with IVPT. The data handled in the app is the responsibility of Instituto Vida Para Todos — IVPT, registered under CNPJ No. 00.623.904/0001-73, at Estrada Estância Árvore da Vida, No. 1, Sumaré/SP, Brazil.

To ask questions or exercise a right, contact our Data Protection Officer: privacy@ivpt.org.br.

3. What data we keep

  • Personal data: full name, preferred name, date of birth, sex, nationalities, country and city of origin, and photo.
  • Contact: WhatsApp and, if you wish, e-mail.
  • Languages you speak and your level.
  • Passport: number, issuing country, issue and expiry dates, and the photo of the document page.
  • Health data: controlled medication, allergies and special conditions. This is sensitive data, and we keep it only to take care of you in an emergency.
  • Emergency contacts: name, relationship and phone number of the people we should notify.
  • Trip data: tickets, arrivals, stays, countries and bases where you have been, and visa deadlines.
  • Account data: username, password (stored in protected form, never as plain text), access dates and login attempts.
  • History: the record of who changed what, and when, in your data.

4. How the data reaches us

You fill in your own data on your first access and can correct it whenever you want.

By accepting these texts, you agree that an administrator may create your initial record (name, nationality and WhatsApp) in order to send your invitation. You provide the rest yourself. Only if you are unable to do so (for example, you have no access to the app or have a health problem), an administrator fills it in for you. That change is recorded in the history, with the name of the person who made it.

Trip data (tickets, arrivals, visa deadlines) is entered by administrators.

5. What we use the data for

  • organizing trips, visa deadlines and the distribution of people among the bases;
  • alerting administrators about deadlines and actions needed;
  • taking care of you in an emergency and notifying your contacts;
  • keeping your account secure and preventing misuse;
  • complying with legal obligations and defending rights, when necessary.

We do not use your data for advertising or for automated decisions that affect you. The app only alerts and suggests; administrators decide.

6. Legal basis

  • Trip logistics (personal data, passport, trips and stays): performance of the service you requested by becoming a colporteur, and IVPT's legitimate interest in organizing the work.
  • Health and religion (sensitive data): your consent, given when you accept these texts. You may withdraw it at any time by writing to the Data Protection Officer; in that case we delete your health data, but withdrawing may limit your participation in activities that depend on it.
  • Emergency: if your life or safety is at risk, we use your health and contact data to protect you, even if you cannot respond at that moment. The law allows this use.
  • Legal obligations and regular exercise of rights, when applicable.

7. What your registration reveals about faith

IVPT is a religious institution. Being a colporteur using the Obra na Ásia app may indicate a religious belief, and the law treats this kind of information as sensitive. We therefore say it plainly: the app does not build a religious profile about you, does not use this information for any other purpose and does not share it for commercial purposes.

8. Who sees your data

  • You see everything that is yours.
  • Administrators see the data needed for logistics. Health data appears only on your record, never in lists, and only for those with permission to see it.
  • Other colporteurs do not see your data.

9. Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, with:

  • Airlines and travel agencies, to issue your tickets (name, date of birth and passport data);
  • Health services and your emergency contacts, in an emergency;
  • Immigration and other authorities, when the law requires it or to defend rights;
  • Companies that keep the app running: hosting of the app and database, and sending of notifications and messages. Notifications and messages carry only notices such as names and deadlines, never health or passport data.

We do not sell or rent your data.

10. Processing data in other countries

Some of these companies store data in other countries. When that happens, we take steps so that your data remains protected, in line with the international transfer rules of Brazilian law.

11. Notifications

App notices are sent only to administrators. You do not receive app notifications on your device unless that changes and the change is announced here beforehand.

12. How long we keep it

We keep your history indefinitely, to maintain the record of the work and of each colporteur's periods of service. You may ask for anonymization at any time by writing to privacy@ivpt.org.br.

Anonymizing deletes your personal data and attachments and keeps only your name and your periods of service, without identification. When your cycle ends, your account is deactivated, but the history remains stored as described in this section.

13. How we protect your data

  • each person can access only what their role allows;
  • files (such as the passport photo) are kept in private storage and opened only through temporary links;
  • health data is kept apart from the rest, with its own access rule;
  • sensitive data does not appear in addresses, error logs, notifications or messages;
  • login has an attempt limit: after 5 wrong passwords in a row, the account is locked for 15 minutes;
  • we make daily backups.

No system is completely free of risk. If a relevant security incident occurs, we will notify the people affected and the authorities, when the law requires it.

14. Adults only

The app is only for people over 18. We do not register minors.

15. Your rights

At any time, you may ask to:

  • confirm whether we process your data and have access to it;
  • correct wrong or outdated data (you can do this yourself in My record);
  • anonymize or block unnecessary data or data processed unlawfully;
  • know with whom your data has been shared;
  • withdraw consent and object to processing.

Write to privacy@ivpt.org.br. We may ask for information to confirm your identity before responding. You may also contact the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

16. If you are outside Brazil

IVPT operates globally. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, South Korea or another country with its own data protection laws, we will respect the rights provided by the law that applies to you, including the right to contact the data protection authority of your country.

17. Your emergency contacts

The data of your emergency contacts belongs to other people. We use it only in an emergency, to notify them. See the Terms of Use for your responsibility to inform them.

18. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect legal or operational changes. When a change is important, you will see the new text on your next access and will need to accept it again. The latest version is always available in the app, with its update date.

This Policy is available in Portuguese and English. In case of divergence, the Portuguese version prevails.
